Committee News

A letter was received from Greg Seyfang advising of his resignation as president of The Club. Greg's efforts over the years of his presidency have been very much appreciated. 

State Convention 26th to 28th August 2011

We will be having a Dress Set on the Saturday night. The participants will be: Claire & Alistair, Judy & Brian, Karen & Carl and Virginia & Malcolm. We are utilising last years outfits, with the additions of white Dutch caps & aprons for the girls. Black Dutch caps for the guys. The caps and aprons have been made by Virginia. These additions will be in keeping with the theme of the Convention which is "Tulips from Amsterdam".

It would be lovely to see as many of you at the Convention as possible, in particular on the Saturday night to support our Dress Set.

Fathers Day Dance September 6th

The men will receive a complimentary glass of Les's 'Very special' home made Baileys & a Hershey chocolate 'kiss'. Ladies, please provide supper tonight.

Halloween Dance October 25th

The hall will be decorated appropriately. Optional fancy dress. Bring something disgusting for supper. Anyone care to decorate a pumpkin?

November Graduation

Date yet to be advised, our current class of learners will be graduating. They have been very enthusiastically working on their moves. Keep up the good work.

Christmas Dance December 6th

This year we will have our Christmas break up dinner and dance here in the hall. The program will be dinner, starting at 7pm, followed by a dance. Father Christmas will be in attendance to give out the gifts. Ladies please bring a gift suitable for a lady & men bring a gift suitable for a man, to the value of between $5.00-$10.00 

The Menu:

  • Chicken & Salads
  • Dinner rolls 
  • Plum Pudding & Brandy custard 
  • Fruit salad & cream 
  • Maison 
  • Christmas bonbons 
  • Nibbles

The Club will supply the chickens, nibbles & the Maison. Members will be asked to nominate an item to contribute for the meal E.g. Salads, dinner rolls, fruit salad, cream, Brandy custard Bonbons. 

We will have a special raffle of a Christmas Hamper. Could every one please start to bring along suitable items to place in the Hamper. Please, only non perishables, thank you. 

Next Year's Club Birthday May 12th 2012

Advance notice! The theme will be Masquerade. So start thinking about preparing your best (or worst!) mask. If anyone would like to contribute with decorations then please you would be most welcome please speak to any of the committee.
